Knock Out Dog Fighting Teams Up With Santa Clara County District Attorney For Anti-Gang Media Campaign

On Wednesday June 17, 2009, Knock Out Dog Fighting crew members IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Ray Arde and MMA Fighter Jose "La Bamba" Palacios were in the studio to record Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Anti-Gang media campaign. The PSAs were created and produced by Knock Out Dog Fighting founder Kris Crawford.
At the end of April 2009, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office launched a new anti-gang media campaign in the hopes of reducing gang violence. The campaign features billboards, posters, signs on buses, and radio and television public service announcements. The anti-gang campaign is designed to empower kids and their parents by providing them with a hotline for resources to keep kids of out gangs. The hotline has bilingual staffers who can offer resources in English and Spanish to anyone who is at risk of joining a gang, is already involved in a gang, or anyone concerned about a friend, family member or loved one involved in a gang lifestyle or at-risk behavior. Said Kris Crawford
Knock Out Dog Fighting recently teamed up with the District Attorney's Office for this campaign because we have the same goal - to prevent children and young adults from getting involved in gangs.
Dog fighting is a popular gang activity so one of Knock Out Dog Fighting's tactics has been to help at-risk youth learn empathy for animals, make better choices, develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles - which reduces the potential for involvement in gang-related activities. Our members believe that if we can reduce the number of young men and women involved in gangs we reduce the number of young men and women involved in dog fighting. According to Kris Crawford and Kristine Crawford of For Pits Sake.
