Knock Out Dog Fighting Partners with the Clean Slate Program

GOT IT! REGRET IT! REMOVE IT!

The Knock Out Dog Fighting program works to stop cruelty and abuse by partnering with schools, juvenile detention facilities, community centers, law enforcement, gang prevention task forces and community based organizations.

One of the programs we work closely with is the Clean Slate program. The Clean Slate program removes gang related tattoos from gang-involved and at-risk youth of San José, who have found the tattoos to be a barrier in furthering themselves through education and/or employment.
The Clean Slate Tattoo Removal Program began as a pilot program in April 1994 and was created to address the problem of youth-related crime in the City Of San José, particularly gang activity. By removing tattooed gang symbols, these individuals have increased opportunities in education and employment and have a greater hope of becoming productive citizens. The youth must complete the 10-week program and meet criteria such as stay in school, live gang-free, attend vocational training and life skills training prior to getting their tattoos removed.

The Knock Out Dog Fighting program brings humane education and fitness and motivational programs to the program.
